I Miss Senses from Japan…

About this time of the year in the last five years, I had been busy wearing kimono and serving tea for 4 consecutive days, for the Senses from Japan event.

Twice a year, in the spring and the fall, people would gather for a bowl of tea and Fran’s white chocolate truffle.  Members of Urasenke Tankokai Seattle Association would volunteer to serve tea.

Senses from Japan started out in the fall of 2015 as a special trunk show introducing Japan’s traditional arts and crafts.

Once we had Ikebana demonstrations, which led to my staring of Ikebana classes at Fran’s.

My Ikebana teacher Mrs. Mitsuko Hakomori’s Ikebana demonstration.

We started Make Your Own Matcha time so that people can learn how to make a bowl of matcha green tea themselves.

Last spring my Ikebana students displayed beautiful arrangements.

None of them happening this year.  I miss the event so much.  I hope I will be able to enjoy a bowl of tea with you someday…..
