The three days of Senses from Japan – Spring 2018 event went by so quickly. For those of you who came to see the tea ceremony demonstration or tried making your own matcha green tea, thank you very much. I hope you also enjoyed beautiful items available at Heiando America’s pop-up store.
In this blog I try to write things about Japan’s traditional culture that are remarkable for me and hopefully of your interest. Something I learned, practiced, read, or experienced, with some words and several pictures. Thanks to the latest technologies, reaching out to you on the web or directly through email twice a week has become a no-brainer.
Sharing with you virtually is one thing; reaching out to you in person is quite another.
The Senses from Japan event, held twice a year, is an opportunity to have you experience a piece of Japan’s culture first hand. An opportunity to see how people in kimono move around, to touch tea bowls and utensils made by craftsmen, to hear the sound of pouring water or whisking, to smell its aroma, and to taste the matcha green tea…If you missed this time, I hope to see you the next time.
Many thanks to my tea friends who participated in serving tea with me. And special thanks to Fran’s Chocolates for providing us with this wonderful space!
