Imagine One World Kimono Project’s Facebook page says it “is a Japan-headquartered endeavor sharing the beauty of the traditional hand-made Japanese kimono. We are creating unique garments for each of 206 countries, to unite the world in peace and harmony at Tokyo 2020.”
The pandemic prevented Tokyo 2020 from happening, but not this project! Now all the 213 kimonos and obis representing 206 countries and several organizations (eg. Refugee groups) are completed!
The video shows all the kimonos and obis. Please enjoy!
Is there a Catalog available for “Imagine One World Kimono Project”? If so, when will it be available for purchase?
Hi Rosalie,
Thank you for your comment.
Their website https://www.piow.jp/?lang=en has photos of all the kimonos, but it doesn’t mention about the catalog. I will shoot for a message if they have a plan to make one.
