This year marks the third anniversary of Japan Fair. Taking over Aki Matsuri, this two-day community event celebrates Japan’s culture with people living in the greater Seattle area. With over 20,000 visitors, it has become one of the largest events that is held at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.
On the main stage there will be variety of performances such as Japanese dance, taiko drums and other music instruments, martial arts, and kimono fashion show.
On the mini stages there will be tea ceremony, ikebana, and bonsai demonstrations.
There will be over 100 booths on the main floor by local communities, local and Japanese businesses, and various cultural organizations. You will find things that are not normally available at any local shops, like specialty Japanese food items.
The seminar room on the fourth floor will be full of interesting lectures and workshops.
If you are thinking of traveling to Japan in near future, or even if you are not, this event is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of its culture. And don’t forget, the Japanese food served on the food court is worth experiencing!
Free admission, free parking! Now all the more enticing, isn’t it?
